- Check out the Honey Bee Suite Website and view The Taranov Split.
- Consider completing the survey that Tom sent out bee informed partnership
- Our treasurer, Andrew – is moving and so we need a new treasurer ASAP.
- Jerry Owens – Packages will arrive April 27th and the nuks will be here the first week in May.
Nisa Kerr – Rapid City Hens -Trying to become affiliated with local like-minded groups. She addressed the group and asked the group to approve a statement which supports the Pilot Program for Hens in Rapid City. The Rapid City Hens Pilot Program purpose is to ‘try out’ hens in the city and if approved will allow 25 families keep up to 6 hens (no roosters) City Council Vote is on May 5th. www.backyardchickens.com/atype/2/coops
- The majority of the WannabeeHobby Beekeepers voted to support Rapid City Hens
Matt Oden – the US Department of Agriculture / Natural Resources Conservation Service – Funding is available for qualified participants to purchase seed and rent a drill to plant bee friendly plants.

Jerry Owens – Cheyenne, WYconference – one commercial bee keeper = 90 pounds going into the fall…winters with only one brood box.
Linda Anderson – Discussed how to remove a stinger from your skin and told her story of having an allergic reaction to being stung. She urged members to check their Epi pens as they have an expiration date. If it is cloudy you do not want to use it. You must go to the emergency room immediately.
